Reasons hiring authorities use Executive Recruiters

In today's economic environment, employers are faced with the same challenge -how to attract and hire the most qualified candidate in the timeliest manner. Not only can it be difficult for a hiring manager to find qualified candidates, the search process can be time consuming, costly, and frustrating. At O'Brien and Roof, we work in partnership with our clients and serve as an extension of their staffing function. We can eliminate the 'pain' felt by many hiring managers in the search process. Below are several reasons why many of our clients partner with us and continue working with us to assist with their hiring needs.

(1) Time and Cost Effective

One of the first things that a hiring manager might do when a position becomes available is to run a classified ad. Any given ad could yield hundreds of resumes, but how many of those resumes are from qualified candidates? The ideal candidate is always 'out there'…. but what if that candidate is happy in their current position and is not reading the want ads? O'Brien and Roof will source and recruit those candidates. We are experts in the markets in which we work.

Placing an ad in the newspaper does not usually lead to quick results in the search for the ideal candidate. Once the resumes are received, the hiring manager must weed through them, call the candidates to screen them, and explain the details of the position. This can take a lot of time especially when these steps are completed and a candidate is not really interested. O'Brien and Roof will eliminate this process. When you receive a resume from one of our candidates, you will be given all relevant information about that person's background. Prior to forwarding a candidate's resume, we will explain to them the duties and responsibilities of the position. The resumes that land on our client's desk are of those candidates who are pre-screened and with a sincere interest in the opportunity. We will also check a preliminary reference to validate the candidate's experience.

Your time is money. If you have ever filled an opening without the help of a recruiter, calculate the amount of time that you spent on the search. Multiply that time by what you are paid hourly. Don't forget to factor in the time that you missed performing your every day duties while you were spending time on the search. Also, don't forget to add in the loss of productivity for simply having an opening in your organization. For example, if there is no sales representative in a territory, that territory is producing $0 in revenue!

(2) Consultative

Some companies will utilize multiple search firms for a single search. This may seem like a good idea to increase the odds of finding the right candidate. However, this makes the process more complicated. Many of our clients use us exclusively for the following reasons: We provide a single point of contact. Why waste your time calling multiple recruiters when you could simply call one? By being the only search firm on the project, we can serve as true consultants to our clients. We are familiar with all of the interviewing candidates, their backgrounds, and even objections that they might have in regards to the position for which they are interviewing. We can also give your organization a second opinion as to which candidate is right for the position. Just as a candidate can look desperate in sending multiple resumes, so can a company using many search firms who contact the same quality candidates.

(3) Trouble shooters

O'Brien and Roof will serve as the "middle man" between you and potential hires. After each step in the interview process, we will debrief the candidate and uncover any problems or concerns that might arise. We will let you know if the candidate is ready to accept, if they have any questions regarding salary, benefits, etc and if they are interviewing with other companies. Never will we let a candidate go into a final interview unless we are certain that they are ready to accept an offer. We will negotiate the deal and close the offer. Remember that it is you, our clients, who pay fees for our expertise. Your interests are our number one priority.

(4) Expertise

Our current staff has a combined total of 30 years of recruiting experience. We have developed a process that has proved itself very successful over the last ten years. All of our recruiters on staff care about what they do and it shows!

(5) National

O'Brien and Roof has been in business for over ten years and we have market presence from coast to coast. We have a very strong network in Columbus and nationally as well, due to recruiting experience and association involvements.
